Barakat Rahmati served as the Chief of Staff to Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry, Deputy Ambassador<\/strong> in Doha, and Political Counselor<\/strong> in Washington, DC, and Islamabad. Barakat Rahmati is the Executive Director of Afghanistan House<\/strong>. Before joining the Afghanistan House, he served as the Chief of Staff in Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry. He led political sections of the Embassies of Afghanistan in Doha, Washington DC, and Islamabad. In Doha, he led the facilitation, monitoring, and analysis <\/b>of the Afghan-Taliban peace process. He also served as a deputy director of the Institute of Diplomacy and deputy spokesperson <\/b>for the Foreign Ministry. As a senior career diplomat, he was a member of the Afghanistan-US Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) negotiations and the Enduring Strategic Partnership Agreement between Afghanistan and the European Union. Barakat has extended experience with the Afghanistan peace process and is a consummate analyst, strategist, and leader with over a decade of experience engaging in the security and stability of Afghanistan and the region.
Barakat studied ‘International Security and Strategic Leadership at the U.K.’s Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS)<\/b>, has an M.A. in ‘International Security and Strategy’ from King’s College London (KCL), and a B.A. in ‘Political Science and Public Administration from the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF). He is an alumnus of the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP) and a Senior Peace and Security Research Fellow at the Afghanistan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Ahmad has extended experience representing Afghanistan in regional diplomatic forums, including ECO and Shanghai regional initiatives, and has over a decade of experience engaging in multilateral foras.
Ahmad holds an M.A. in ‘International Relations’ from Afghanistan University and pursued Ph.D. studies in the field of ‘International Relations.’ He has a B.A. in ‘Law and Political Science from Kabul University. Nazila Jamshidi is specialized in inclusive international development and democratization interventions. She possesses extensive experience advising, creating, and implementing programs that promote the rights and inclusion of marginalized people through international development, foreign aid, and civil society. Observing the barriers to human rights and social justice in 27 provinces of Afghanistan, Nazila realized that developing societies’ social justice systems and public policies need fundamental changes, which require a broader range of technical and academic knowledge and tools. Azimullah is a published author with a book titled “From Obama Strategy to Emergence of ISIS in the Middle East” and has researched and published Articles, Academic Papers on Strategic Studies, Terrorism, Security Affairs, Peace and Stability to the Stooray Monthly Magazine & Quarterly Journal of Strategic Studies Center. Mohibullah Noori\u00a0<\/strong>is the Policy Fellow for Regional Integration at Afghanistan House<\/b>. He is also the leader of the Heart of Asia Nations Integration Movement and former Policy Director at the National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.<\/p>

Mr. Noori has written several books on regional integration policy and has advocated for this idea since 2001. He is known in Afghanistan for his opinions on the Fajristan Civilizational Region, Heart of Asia Regional Order, and Government of Peace. He believes that, for bringing lasting peace to Afghanistan, there is a need for a Government of Peace based on three principal agreements: national agreement on a moderate, democratic, and decentralized system to reflect the diversity of the country appropriately; partnership with the neighboring countries on a regional integration policy; and global agreement on a neutrality policy with the great powers to prevent Afghanistan’s “Ukrainization.\u201d<\/p>

Mr. Noori founded and led several organizations. This included the Afghanistan Youth Cultural Foundation\/AYCF, through which he contributed to youth progress, mobilized a large number of young people \u2014 some of whom grew on to become high-ranking government and society leaders, and organized significant cultural and social activities across the country. He also founded Takharistan Radio, a locally broadcast media agency partnered with Internews based in the U.S. committed to democratic broadcasting. Heart of Asia Nations Integration Movement\/HANIM advocates regional integration with neighboring countries, and the Fajristan Institute of Higher Education educates over 1,000 students yearly.<\/p>

Mr. Noori holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Pune University-India, a diploma in International Relations and Human Rights from Pune College, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Security and Strategic Studies from the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy.<\/p>

Mr. Noori has also served as the Deputy Director of Policy and Oversight in the National Security Council. In his role on the NSC, Mr. Noori was responsible for assessing national security threats, drafting defense and security policies, and working directly with the leadership of the Afghan National Defense and Security forces and U.S.\/NATO advisers. He also led over a thousand interdepartmental committees and drafted over a thousand national security policies, strategies, and plans.<\/p>

In 2019, Mr. Noori served as Chairman of the Reintegration Commission in the High Council for National Reconciliation. He is an expert in human rights, peacebuilding, women’s empowerment, and labor and social affairs.<\/p>

He has previously served, among other positions, as the Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Labor and Socials Affairs (MoLSA) and Director of Grants Management Units and Legislation and Labor Rights at MoLSA.\u00a0He has represented Afghanistan in many regional and international conferences.<\/p>

Ehsan holds an M.A. in International Law from Kateb University and a B.A. in Law from Kabul University. Before joining Afghanistan House, Wahid served as the Governor of Herat province, Mayor of Herat city and was elected Speaker of the Herat Provincial Council. Wahid studied arts at Herat University. Wahid was a prominent activist in Afghanistan’s cultural, media, and governance fields for over two decades. He founded and authored Sefer newspaper, Durbin magazine, Asr T.V., and Herat Cinema House. Ambassador\u00a0Nabiel served as Ambassador of Afghanistan to the Netherlands, senior advisor to Foreign Affairs and Finance Ministers, and a U.N. international civil servant in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Liberia. He has expertise in regional cooperation, Transboundary waters, crisis management, and the art of negotiations. Amb.\u00a0Nabiel has first-hand information and participated in several sessions of the Geneva Accord, a peace agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan, co-signed by the U.S. and Russia.
